Associate Director of Digital Experience
KU Marketing | 2022 - present
As a steward of the university’s brand, I advocate for the needs of prospective and current students by designing digital experiences that are user-friendly and meet student recruitment marketing objectives. In 2023, KU welcomed it’s largest freshmen class in history. I lead a team of digital marketing specialists and web developers who build UX-centered digital touchpoints across the student customer journey including websites, digital ads, email and text campaigns, and digital signage. I play an integral part in the strategy, design, development, and maintenance of KU websites. I guide processes that result in high-quality, high-performing recruitment email campaigns. This work includes the strategy, creation, and deployment of emails through specialized CRM queries. I work to make sure that all of our digital touchpoint decisions are data-informed and cohesive.
User Experience Designer
KU Marketing | 2013-2015 and 2019-2022
I provided sound user experience consultations for many digital initiatives across campus, including strategy, creation, maintenance, and evaluation of KU’s highest visibility websites. I played a key role in the complete redesign, launch, and ongoing support of KU’s content management system. This work included collaborating with design and development teams to build a design system from the ground up that expresses our brand, meets the highest accessibility standards, and allows flexibility and consistency for content creators. The launch of the new CMS allowed me the opportunity to share design work, training, and presentations with partners across campus. I also initiated the first user-testing group to gather feedback from clients and executed usability tests. In an effort to make designs more data-driven, I strategized, implemented, and provided consultation for our enterprise-level set up of Google Analytics.

Adjunct Lecturer
KU School of Architecture and Design | 2016 - 2018
Instructor for four studio classes; Designing Social Interactions, Interaction Design, Industrial Design Portfolio, and Visual Communication. This position included curriculum development, lecturing, grading, design process guidance, and mentorship for all classes.
Interaction Designer
Perceptive Software (now Hyland) | 2012 - 2013
Perceptive Software is a global company offering enterprise process and content management software. As an interaction designer I brought smart and simple interfaces to complex feature sets. I supported several development teams through UX consultation on large initiatives, for example, designing interfaces for new features that would help the software pass certification tests for the Department of Defense. Additionally, I worked with product management, architects, and the design team to create a new platform which would host Perceptive products and third party modules across our desktop, web, tablet, and mobile shells. I was responsible for designing interaction patterns that would delight users and communicating these standards to development teams and users. This role included agile development process training, workshops, and regular practice with all the development teams that I supported.
User Experience Designer
Popstar Networks | 2010 - 2012
Popstar Networks is a software development company that manages enterprise class digital signage networks. I brought user experience insights and tools to the product development team. I was responsible for design research, pattern creation, interface design, documentation, and usability testing. I worked on a cross-functional team in an agile development process to complete projects including the design and launch of a robust content management system, interactive kiosks, video-walls, natural user interfaces, and tablet applications.
